For the Love of Vintage

vin•tage
[vin-tij] noun, adjective, verb
-adjective
1. representing the high quality of a past time
2.
being the best of its kind

I love all things vintage. Contrary to the most popular trend today where the newest and most up-to-date technology and software seems absolutely mandatory, I more deeply appreciate the treasures of the past. Vint
age cameras/photography, vintage telephones, vintage jewelry, vintage automobiles, vintage clothing, vintage hairdos, vintage music, diners, typewriters, record players -- anything and all things, vintage. So beautiful.

I must admit that, as an eighteen year old in the 21st century, I am thankful for modern conveniences. However, I wonder how I would be vintage. Not as in how I will be when I'm old, but what I would have been like years ago. How I would have dressed, how my room would have looked, the traditions I would partake in. All of these undoubtedly much different than today. My thoughts are that I would have blended into [what we consider to be] a vintage society quite well. Call me old fashioned but.. no, I suppose in some ways I am. I just cannot help myself; the social, style and fashion and technological aspects of vintage eras are so alluring.

Interesting that I sit here typing away on the most current version of the MacBook Pro, having just updated the software on my iPod Touch and synced it with music, podcasts, applications and photos. Oh the irony of it all.

Anyway, he
re are some more photos of vintage items. Feast your eyes!

P.S. Four days until Ukraine!!
