A Blog, Oh My!
I have been wanting to start a blog for a very long time. Only two things stood in my way: my limited knowledge and creativity for technology and perhaps the number of uninteresting posts I would make. In any case, today I did it. We'll see how this goes.. Whether this proves to be successful or not, I will have created a place to document my thoughts, dreams and adventures as they happen. Essentially and alternative to a diary or journal; typing, for me, is MUCH faster than writing.
I decided to title my blog, "faith, hope, love". This is from the Bible in 1 Corinthians 13, one of my absolute favourite passages.
That's all for now. I'm sure I'll be back again soon (and quite frequently) until the novelty of it wares off. Until then, good day!
I decided to title my blog, "faith, hope, love". This is from the Bible in 1 Corinthians 13, one of my absolute favourite passages.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.I need to be reminded of faith, hope and love each day as they are three very important aspects of my life. Faith is the basis for the revealing of God's righteousness in my life; it is a gift of God that is continuously growing. Hope is a spiritual gift providing present enjoyment of the future fulfillment of the promises of God. I also need to be mindful of my responsibility to exemplify the hope that I have throughout my everyday life. Lastly, love: God's love is a gift that flows through the Holy Spirit to me. I need to share it with everyone I come in contact with so that they will know the reality and everlasting love of Christ. Admittedly, it is hard to do these things on a daily basis but I strive to do these things and therefore become more and more like my Saviour each and every day. I'm a work in progress. He's not finished with me yet.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
That's all for now. I'm sure I'll be back again soon (and quite frequently) until the novelty of it wares off. Until then, good day!
